TURNBACK CHECKS

Cotton fabric made 28-in. to 36-in. wide in 20 yard lengths, and shipped to West Africa and South America; the quality is about 96 ends and 40 picks per inch, 22's warp and 20's weft. The centre of the cloth is a small blue and white check, and there is a border about 4-in. to 6-in. wide at each side of the stripe only. The coloured weft only weaves with the centre portion, therefore the centre has more picks than the borders.
